Question by Steph: Hide/fix scratches in vinyl ‘wood’ flooring?
Our apartment has vinyl wood flooring, and our couch has left some deep scratches in it. The floor is very cheap and scratches far too easily, but our landlord seems proud of it so we would like to do our best to make it look better. Anything we can do?
Any idea what these pens are called and how much they cost?

They have these “pens” @ the store which are wood colored and are used for that very reason. They are usually used on real wood but can be used on vinyl as well.

Question by Tim D: How should I install a new vanity/sink with loose lay vinyl flooring?
I’m remodeling a basement bathroom which has a concrete floor. I’m using loose lay vinyl (glueless). When I install the vanity/sink cabinet, should I install it directly on the concrete, and cut the vinyl to fit around the vanity (then hold it down with quarter round)? Or should I just lay the vinyl down first, and install the vanity directly on top of the vinyl? Does it even really matter?

It won’t matter which you install first. Personally I would install the vanity first, that way, if you have to replace the flooring at a later date, you don’t have to pull up the vanity.

Question by homer simpson: how should I prepare my damaged floor before laying vinyl flooring?
I’m laying vinyl in a small 4×6 room. I should have just laid the brand new stuff on the old stuff but I made the error of attempting to drag it up. I’ve tore up a small area but I don’t wish to proceed this. How can I restore the small section I tore up with out pulling up the whole thing? Can I just place another precisely reduce piece of vinyl in that part then cowl the whole thing with the new sheet?
